Ave Romans, it’s your resident old man here with another post regarding our revival. There’s a great happening in the behind the scenes currently as we build up to our upcoming launch. We’re working hard on refreshing our image, as well as developing a new chain of command and tactics that we will use to outperform those we end up in conflict with.
One of the changes we’re making to go with our refresh efforts is we’re adopting a new uniform standard, the details of which you can find below:

Our previous primary uniform, seen above, has been in use with the Legion since 2018. Due to a lack of command functionality on mainstream private servers, it’ll continue to see use on Club Penguin Journey and Club Penguin Legacy.

The new uniform standard brings us back to the Roman’s original, primarily black aesthetic, and makes use of rarely used Elite Gear pieces to give our Legionaries more of a tactical look over ye olde red football jerseys. Funnily enough, this is the uniform we were looking at adopting for our first CPPS attempt all the way back in 2012 (or was it 2013?), before we opted for something that could readily be used on both private servers and vanilla Club Penguin. The components of the uniform, plus their associated item codes, are listed below:
- Head: Roman Helmet (!ai 451)
- Eyes: Ski Goggles (!ai 136)
- Body: Tactical Gear (!ai 4258)
- Neck: Supply Bag (!ai 316)
- Arms: Black Electric Guitar (!ai 338)
- Shoes: Hiking Boots (!ai 372/6021)

Two additional alternate uniforms are also on offer: One for when it’s extra chilly out, and one for those feeling a bit nostalgic for the classic post-WWIII Roman uniform. These are generally authorized for training, patrols and the like, but for battles the Legion uniformly sticks to the primary BDU.

On top of the three standard uniform option, the Legion’s Cornicines (as well as Aquilifiers) wear the previous issue BDU to distinguish themselves from the rest of the rank & file, due to the importance of their role and the necessity for the whole Legion to need to be able to pick them out of a crowd. In instances where the Legion are wearing the previous issue BDU, the Cornicen of the formation will wear a blue jersey for identification.

Like the Cornicen, Romans who take up the Commander role at an event have their own uniform: The officer’s BDU, the key difference being the usage of the H20 Pack. Additionally they’re allowed usage of capes, with each rank having their own unique color to denote their status; However, these are rarely worn unless specifically authorized for an event, as it’s tradition that Roman leadership wear the same standard as their subordinates.

Centurions are authorized usage of the brown cape.
Praefecti are allowed to use the black cape, while the Tribune are authorized to wear the magician cape.
Legates can wear the red cape.
Lastly, the Consul/Emperor (hey, that’s me!) are authorized usage of the yellow cape. However, like the other officers, I don’t intend on busting out ole yellow very often. I’d rather match the boys (and gals, we’re hella inclusive here).

As you can probably tell, our uniform standards are more complex than most others in the community; However, our tactics, formations and strategies require that members of the Legion be able to pick apart the Legionaries, Cornicines and Commanders from one another, as a large degree of our coordination will be done on Club Penguin itself rather than Discord. For this reason, our members are expected to adhere strictly adhere to this uniform code at most CPAB events.
Ad Majorem Gloriam,
