A Statement On Sexual Misconduct

Ave Romans! It’s your resident old man, here with a message to you and the rest of the greater CPA community on the topic of sexual misconduct in armies.

Recently our former historical allies the RPF have found themselves in hot water after two of their older staff members were exposed for engaging in inappropriate behavior with younger members of their organization. While fortunately none of those involved were minors, this is the latest in a long spanning list of incidents of sexual misconduct that have afflicted this community, something I find personally revolting given the age demographics involved. Just four months ago, I returned under the impression that the community had improved for the better, only to find out through first hand experience that very little has changed from the CPAC/xat era.

This community has been preyed upon by predators and pedophiles since its earliest days. Some of it’s most prolific legends, such as Waterkid100 and Boomer20 (who edated a 15 year old AR 3ic when he was 20+, as confirmed by Burr), have been exposed for engaging sexually with minors; Other notorious examples include Snaily5, a 25+ year old woman who personally preyed upon me when I was 15/16 and other teenage boys who were in ACP at the time (she also posted this gem back in the day), and Prior Bumble, a 30+ year old whom publicly erotically role-played with and groomed minors while manipulating them with cult-like tactics. There are others that I haven’t listed, whether they be examples who have yet to be publicly exposed or ones I’m failing to remember off the top of my head/don’t know because I wasn’t around, and even more who were never discovered. This cannot be tolerated in a community primarily populated by children, teenagers and young adults.

While the actions of Beans and Joke aren’t comparable to the actual crimes committed by the pedophiles listed above, it does highlight a level of tolerance for inappropriate relationships within the community. I’ve heard out RF/RPF leaderships’ stance via their statements/various friends I have within their administration and understand where they’re coming from, but at the end of the day their response was both lackluster and sluggish. Speaking as a twenty-nine year old man: While an eighteen year old can legally consent, that doesn’t mean that it’s correct to welcome them into a sexually charged private server and engage with them in that manner. Once you exit “college age” (24/25 & up), it’s your responsibility to recognize that someone barely over the legal age of consent whose age ends with “teen” generally lacks the emotional maturity for you to engage with in that way; Especially when you’re in a position of power, even if it’s a pseudo-one like being a CPA staff/HCOM member. Additionally, on that note, someone in a leadership position shouldn’t be fraternizing with their subordinates in such a manner, even when it comes to a Club Penguin army. As for their leadership’s response, wringing your hands and passing the buck onto those coming forward with allegations when your organization lands in hot water because your twenty-eight year old staff member has a thing for people fresh out of their high school graduation ceremonies isn’t acceptable. While they eventually got around to banning Beans, this is an action that should’ve been taken the day of. If the Romans found themselves in the same situation, you better believe the belligerents would be unceremoniously and swiftly given the boot.

Furthermore, this situation brings to mind another issue that I have with the community, specifically the CPA organization and the legend’s council: Waterkid100 and Boomer20 are still listed as legends despite their crimes, and any arguments in favor of getting them removed have met opposition from CPA organization members. When others and I argued that they should be removed in the CPA Discord main chat, I was personally told they won’t be removed for two primary reasons: 1.) Preserving history, and 2.) Not wanting to set a precedent that it’s okay to retroactively remove people from the legends’ list for negative reasons, such as committing heinous crimes against the children that populate this community. Both of these arguments are repugnant and shouldn’t be tolerated; A community that’s primarily populated by minors should not glorify people who victimized children as legends, and the people who’ve crowned themselves the heads of the community should be ashamed for not only failing to take the correct action when it’s pointed out to them directly that there are PEDOPHILES on their legends’ list, but arguing in favor of continuing to glorify them for such ridiculous reasons.

(Note: While I lack screenshots of these conversations since I’ve long since left every CPA Discord besides the Roman server, you can look up these discussions via the search function if you wish to verify my claims; Additionally, I want to specifically note that to my memory/knowledge these org members weren’t admins of either organizations, whom still have the ability to take the correct action and remove these abhorrent individuals from the legend’s list)

Change is long overdue. I am calling upon the greater community to unite as one against predation, pedophilia and sexual misconduct: No more tolerance for predators, adults preying on vulnerable minors and people who’re way too old to be active members of Club Penguin armies engaging inappropriately with people who’ve barely graduated from high school. No more turning a blind eye to the organizations who’ve monopolized CPA sweeping the heinous crimes of the supposed “legends” of old who’ve been outed for victimizing minors under the rug, bringing disgrace to the real legends of who deserve to be on the list by association. No. More. Whether you are an army leader or a standalone member of the community, I call on you to join The White Order, wage war against the RPF for their failure to commit decisive action, and demand accountability from the major players of CPA. This isn’t about land, force treaties or revenge: This is about sending a message, one everybody in the community should be on board with. You, and only you, can bring about a superior version of this community, where this behavior isn’t accepted or tolerated.

Thank you for your time. Glory to the Roman Empire.

Ad Majorem Gloriam,
