Club Penguin Romans

Ave Romans! Over the weekend, we debuted another event entirely unique to our army, at least in the 2020’s. I’d like to introduce you all to this post’s namesake: Snow Wars!

The concept of Snow Wars isn’t anything new to armies. The idea is directly ripped from CPA’s genesis, the Color Wars, additionally known as CP WWI; Back before days of formations, tactics, WordPress blogs, Discords, CPAJ judges and armies in general, the Club Penguin army community was an unorganized mix of general color based clans. These clans would roam early Club Penguin, looking for groups of differently colored penguins to fight. When they found them, large crowds would gather, trading snowballs and banter from opposite sides of whatever room they found themselves in, typically at either the Dojo, Ice Berg or Snow Forts. We aim to recapture the spirit of these early CPA wars with these events.

Teams:

There are currently two sides in Snow Wars, the classic Reds and Blues. These two have simplistic uniforms with little variation, both of you can view below:

Red:

• Head: Mining Helmet, Hard Hat, Roman Helmet or Red/Golden Viking Helmet
• Color: Red, Candyapple & Peach

Blue:

• Head: Mining Helmet, Hard Hat, Roman Helmet or Blue/Golden Viking Helmet
• Color: Blue, Light Blue & Aqua

Rules:

The rules of Snow Wars are simple & few in number, of which you can read below:

1. You must throw snowballs.
2. No word tactics or charges.
   • Emote tactics are fine, but must be spontanously organized on Club Penguin (for example, one penguin uses an E+T emote, and his surrounding teammates do the same)
3. The two teams must maintain a distance from each other, and should generally stick to opposing sides of the room if space allows. No stacking up on top of one another.
4. Team switching is allowed and even encouraged for the sake of balancing; However, participants are expected to stick to either red or blue.
   • The sole exception to this rule is if randoms who jump in form their own team, such as a purple clan. At this point, members of both teams can join the third side if they wish.
5. Non-Roman participants are expressly forbidden from using our events to recruit for their army. If it happens, it will be treated as troop stealing. 
6. There are no winners. Have fun!

We will be hosting several of these events a week, primarily on Club Penguin Journey, but also occasionally on Club Penguin Legacy and Penguin Origins as well. We welcome the wider CPA community to partake in them as well, should they be interested in joining us in embracing our historical roots.
